Viale Somalia, Viale Libia, Viale Etiopia and Viale Eritrea. It is in these streets named after the former Italian colonies that the Trieste District of Rome is also known as the African Quarter.
On the map of the city, north of the center, it occupies the space of an irregular rectangle of almost 4 sq. Km, bordered by three main arteries and a river. Via Salaria, north-east, so called because here once passed the carts full of salt. Via Nomentana, to the south-east, from Nomentum (today Mentana) ancient city of Sabina to which it was connected and Via Regina Margherita to the southwest. Finally to the north-east, the river Aniene, a natural border line between Trieste and the suburb of Monte Sacro.
